Our client base has been growing, and we are now looking for experienced finance professionals who are open to Virtual CFO opportunities in 2025.
Business Overview
A Virtual CFO’s role is to act as a trusted advisor to business owners by providing strategic financial guidance and hands-on support, ensuring they have the tools and insights needed to make informed decisions and grow their businesses.
Start Date: The opportunity is for 2025 as we are currently negotiating client contracts for next year.
Commitment: The position will be part time, approximately 2–3 days per week. Casual or contracting support for specific projects and peak times may also be considered.
Scope of Work: Olive Business Partners is not an accounting firm. We do not provide accounting, tax, compliance, or bookkeeping services. Please review the skills required below.
Nature of the Work: The work will vary depending on client needs. While the varied work can be interesting and bring about new opportunities, it may not always follow a clearly defined structure and there can be a high level of ambiguity. This is the nature of Virtual CFO work which is not suitable for everyone.

About the Role
Provide strategic financial advice to business owners, including, but not limited to, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, funding and growth strategies.
Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
Conduct in-depth analysis to identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost reduction, and profitability improvement.
Work closely with business owners to develop and implement financial strategies, treating their business as if it were your own.
Evaluate and improve financial processes, systems, and reporting frameworks for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, becoming a trusted partner in their success.
Stay current with financial technology and tools, adapting to new technologies to enhance client outcomes.
Balance strategic thinking with attention to detail, diving into specifics when necessary to resolve issues or provide clarity.
Key Responsibilities
At least ten years experience as a finance professional with time in a senior role such as Finance Manager, Financial Controller, CFO, or equivalent positions.
Exceptional commercial finance skills, including insightful analysis, planning, and presenting financial data.
Excellent communication skills to convey financial concepts clearly and effectively to business owners.
Ability to problem solve while navigating ambiguity.
Analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a deep understanding of cash flow drivers.
Tech-savvy, with the ability to quickly adapt to and learn new technologies.
A proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
A collaborative and client-focused attitude, with a willingness to go the extra mile to support business owners.
A focus on continuous self-development.
